Dr Cult-O M.E. Reviews “I Tonya”

Dr Cult-O M.E. | Independent Movie Review

REVIEW:
The true story of the tabloid skating trailer park princess, Tonya Harding, starring the popular Margot Robbie in the title role is a Fine black comedy. The back story of the sadly abused, and fiercely competitive Tonya on her rise to the Olympics in 92 and the first to do the impossible ‘triple axel” in figure skating. Her home life is a nightmare of poverty and a outrageous husband, Jeff Gillooly (Sebastian Stan) that plots the infamous leg clubbing of Nancy Kerrigan.

Craig Gillespie (Lars and the Real Girl) directs with swift editing and terrific acting. Allison Janney is perfect as the stage Mom from the bowels of Hell, and Oscar bound.

Like “The Disaster Artist” , it’s riveting cringe comic fun. Bravo
