Dr Cult-O M.E. Reviews “Aftermath”

REVIEW
Finally Arnold Schwarzenegger gets a dramatic role in his career of punch outs, gun play, and strongman antics for decades. He was a punchline joke. But he is expanding in his old age, playing a distraught husband and father when his family dies in a tragic plane mishap.

“Aftermath” is a dark and grueling drama, told through the lives of Roman (the father of the victims) and Jacob ( Scoot McNairy of ‘Argo’), the air traffic controller who caused the collision that killed hundreds of passengers.

Well made and Arnold plays the role with true conviction, and believable at times. McNairy has a more difficult role as a broken soul with a loving family. The aftermath is a real downer… in story and on film. Worth a look but get ready for a depressing ride with great performances.
